Three Planet Combinations involving Mercury, Venus and/or Mars in Evidence-Based Astrology

Three planet combinations will happen in a chart either through a pattern of three planets - like a Grand Trine, or a sextile - sextile - trine pattern, or a conjunction of two planets that aspect another planet by trine, opposition, square or any other aspect. There are other combinations, but this gives you a good idea of some of the possibilities. Another common way that a three planet combination can show up in a chart would be a midpoint structure, which is when you have a planet at the midpoint between two other planets, within 1.5 degrees. The planet at the midpoint can be either conjunct or opposite the midpoint.

Now, let’s have a look at how planet combine their energies, according to Evidence-based Astrology, which I also call Vibrational Astrology.

Now, we will cover the three planet combinations that involve Mercury, Venus and/or Mars:

Mercury-Venus-Mars: This person has a natural ability to express themselves very well and colorfully, and they do well with writing, literature and the arts. They also do well in involvement with theatre and other expressive forms of art. These people are passionately expressive.

Mercury-Venus-Jupiter: This person is very good at communicating openly and candidly. They are good at supporting and encouraging others. They also have a great artistic sense, and appreciate things that are of a high quality and which are colorful, refined and expensive.

Mercury-Venus-Saturn: This person has a good sense of what others are thinking about and what matters to them. They have a mature and understated personality. They are not flashy or interested in excess. They make great editors, and can cut away unnecessary fluff that doesn’t add any value to a creative project. They are good with design as well, seeing what exactly makes a design attractive.

Mercury-Venus-Uranus: This person is great in expressing in an attractive way, very spontaneously. They have fast reflexes and are good at such things as playing a musical instrument and improvisation. Their fast reflexes and creative abilities combine well in this way. They would be good at jam sessions, for instance.

Mercury-Venus-Neptune: This person has a great imagination. They are very good at understanding and interpreting works of fiction, such as literature and poetry.

Mercury-Venus-Pluto: This person experiences feelings in a very deeply, and they get a lot of satisfaction from expressing these deep feelings through art, literature and music. They prefer arts, music and literature that are deeply moving.

Mercury-Mars-Jupiter: This person has a great aptitude to learn a wide range of subjects, including practical skills as well as subjects that expand the mind, with a philosophical bent. They are able to succeed in business by using their strong love of learning things in order to gain real skills.

Mercury-Mars-Saturn: This person has excellent mental concentration, being both logical and methodical in their understanding and approach to problems, learning and work. This person willingly works on difficult jobs or projects that others avoid. They can make a good teacher, with clear instructions.

Mercury-Mars-Uranus: This person has a very fast moving mind, and they process information very quickly and with agility. They can get impatient easily due to their ability to understand things so quickly. They will do best in situations or jobs that are fast moving. They also have quick reflexes, which is great for many sports and competitions.

Mercury-Mars-Neptune: This person understands literature and fiction very easily. They have a very creative and imaginative mind.

Mercury-Mars-Pluto: This person can have a hard time with patience, and they can come on too strong about their viewpoints with others. They will do best to slow down and consider how they talk to others and inject extra patience into their tone and way of talking. They are very shrewd and insightful, but not very open to others points of view.

Mercury-Jupiter-Saturn: This person has excellent organizational abilities. They are able to understand from both a technical and detailed viewpoint, and they also grasp general principles as well.

Mercury-Jupiter-Uranus: This person has an incredibly creative and inventive mind. They are naturally very optimistic. They do best when they have plenty of space to explore and be creative.

They do best when they have freedom in their work and to solve problems on their own. They must have freedom in their thinking, or they will resist or rebel.

Mercury-Saturn-Neptune: This person is an abstract thinker. They are able to combine structure with vision and an inspired way of seeing or feeling. They can study and work in careers that require this ability to be both practical and structured as well as very inspired and visionary.

Mercury-Saturn-Pluto: This person has an intense and penetrating mental focus. They are excellent at research and diving very deeply into whatever subject interests them. They have an incredibly disciplined mental focus. They are good in detailed work.

Mercury-Uranus-Neptune: This person has a wild and vivid imagination, and might think in a sort of psychedelic sort of way, not very realistic, but quite wild and unstable, but interesting and maybe somewhat profound. They enjoy unusual art, music and mystical subjects.

Mercury-Uranus-Pluto: This person has a very direct and quick way of communicating. They have an intense, creative and innovative mind.

Mercury-Neptune-Pluto: This person can make an excellent writer, as they’re able to paint a very clear and vivid picture of their subject. They are able to understand fiction, poetry and literature very easily.

Three Planet Combination with Venus:

Venus-Mars-Jupiter: This person has a very warm, friendly and generous personality, and they love to be surrounded by friends. They are also naturally creative. They love to travel, explore and see the beauty of the world.

Venus-Mars-Saturn: This person is a serious, responsible and loyal person. They are likely to stick to their commitments in their relationships, and prefer a love which is more real and lasting, rather than based on something superficial.

Venus-Jupiter-Pluto: This person enjoys living in a grand style, they do or would like to live like the wealthy - with museums, operas and all the finest things in life open to them. They tend to be successful and might be considered lucky, seeming to achieve their higher goals successfully.

Venus-Saturn-Uranus: This person tends to have conflicts in relationship, due to their vacillation between commitment and desire for freedom. This can cause problems in their romantic relationships. It’s best to be calm and patient in relationships, and not make decisions impulsively or based on a fleeting feeling.

Venus-Saturn-Neptune: This person dreams of a relationship that is inspired, magical and committed at the same time. They want a sincere love and devotion. They also tend to be sensitive and artistic.

Venus-Saturn-Pluto: This person needs more time alone than most others, but enjoy people who are truly sincere and honest. They often feel misunderstood because of this. They want a relationship with very deep feelings and genuine, honest communication.

Mars-Jupiter-Saturn: This person is very good at visualizing their goals in a clear and expansive way. They are naturally enterprising and make good entrepreneurs, as they have the energy to act on their goals, as well as know how to create a structure within which their visions can grow into, and become something which can last, long term.

Mars-Jupiter-Uranus: This person is naturally very enthusiastic and optimistic, fun and excitable. They are great at making people laugh, as they have a dynamic and energetic energy which has an infectious quality that affects others, lightening the mood.

Mars-Jupiter-Neptune: This person focuses on the big picture and broader visions. They can quickly become bored when they feel bogged down by mundane, hum-drum tasks, that don’t inspire them.

Mars-Jupiter-Pluto: This person is great at creating a big plan or vision to move toward and they can be very single-minded in their pursuit of that goal. They do need to be careful not to be too intense in their pursuit, or they might burn themselves out or becoming to narrow-minded and forget other aspects of life that are important.

Mars-Saturn-Uranus: This person can be very productive when they aren’t restricted by others. They don’t like their freedom to be impinged upon. They might not be very good at sticking to a fixed schedule or task, but may need some freedom to move from thing to thing as needed. But they should make sure that they do still stick to some plan in order to accomplish their goals.

Mars-Saturn-Neptune: This person will work very hard for a cause that they feel is worthy and which inspires them. They are happy when in service to a cause. They are inspired to work hard for a meaningful cause that can help them gain recognition from the community.

Mars-Saturn-Pluto: This person is a very hard worker. They can endure more extremes of long hours and the hardest labor that others can’t. When they have set their mind on a goal, they will work relentlessly until they finish the task. THese people are absolute work horses. They of course should be careful not to take this endurance they have too far, and become absolutely exhausted.

Mars-Uranus-Neptune: This person is very original and creative. They have sudden bursts of inspiration and energy, interspersed with periods of lack of motivation. These people do not do well with stimulants or other mind altering substances.

Mars-Uranus-Pluto: This person is sports and competitions. They have very quick reflexes. They can be pushy and aggressive without realizing it.

Mars-Neptune-Pluto: This person is driven to create something that inspires their imagination. They need to feel challenged and inspired in the pursuit of their goals, otherwise they will become bored and no longer feel driven to to fulfill their dreams.
